I recently saw the tv ad for Sketcher’s Shape-ups and their claim that it will help you lose weight, I decided to get me a pair and see if their claims are true.
I took a trip to my local Nordstroms to check them out. My first impression of the shoes was that it resembled shoes worn by nurses. It has a curvy look to it with a thick sole. I tried them on and found them to be very comfortable, unlike some athletic shoes that are uncomfortable until you break them in. When you walk, you fell the rolling motion.
When I first got up from the chair, after lacing the shoes, it felt strange, like learning how to stand without losing my balance. The first few steps were strange. It felt as though I was walking on sand. Those few steps were all it took, though. I instantly fell in love with these shoes and purchased them.
I used to get lower back aches whenever I’d walk for more than 30 minutes, but these shoes actually helped with the back ache. In fact, I normally go barefoot whenever I’m home, but not anymore. You can actually feel the pressure being release from the back.
Here are the benefits of Sketcher’s Shape-ups:
- Improves posture
- Strengthens the back
- Firms butt muscles
- Reduces cellulite and tones thighs
- Firms calf muscles
- Improves blood circulation
- Tightens abdominal muscles
The curvature of the sole improves your posture by allowing you to stand up straight. The rocking motion when you walk actually give that muscle burn in the buttocks and thighs. The soft, cushy spot in the sole actually takes pressure off the lower back. So if you have bad posture, butt and thighs that need toning, and experience back aches, then Shape-Ups will make a difference.
The shoes come with a dvd and booklet. Under normal circumstances, I wouldn’t spend a whole lot of money on a pair of athletic shoes, but I’m happy. It’s well worth the money.
